With a classical background, I later found in jazz and improvisation my true artistic voice, turning them into tools for composition, interpretation, and musical exploration.
Without drawing boundaries between genres, I love exploring different musical landscapes because, as Duke Ellington once said, there are only two kinds of music: “good music and the other kind.”
Music has always been part of my life. I began studying piano at the age of six and attended the “Orazio Vecchi” Conservatory in Modena before graduating privately at the “Giacomo Puccini” Conservatory in La Spezia in 2010.
Alongside my classical piano studies, I developed a strong passion for jazz, attending the Bachelor’s Degree program in Jazz Singing and Jazz Piano at the “Arrigo Boito” Conservatory in Parma from 2013 to 2017. In March 2026, I earned my Master’s Degree in Jazz Singing with top honors (110/110) at the “Francesco Venezze” Conservatory in Rovigo.
Over the years, I have attended numerous seminars and masterclasses ranging from jazz improvisation (with Cinzia Spata, Fabrizio Bosso, Franco D’Andrea, Bruno Tommaso, Judy Niemack, Rachel Gould, among others) to vocal technique and research, including Psicofonia with Elisa Benassi (2015–2017), Voicecraft with Elisa Turlà (2011), and Belcanto with Miguel Curti (2017–2024).
I have been active as a pianist and singer for over fifteen years, performing in a wide variety of musical settings and environments. My career began in classical music, collaborating with organizations such as Parmalirica and participating in the National Piano Competition “Città di Lamporecchio.” I later expanded into jazz and contemporary music as a pianist, keyboardist, and vocalist, performing in theaters, festivals, squares, and live clubs including Parma Jazz Frontiere, Rai Radio Tre, Zola Jazz’n Wine, Trieste Summer Rock Festival, Porretta Prog Festival, Periferico Festival, Premio Kramer, Casa della Musica di Parma, Parma Swing Festival, Venezze Jazz Festival, Corti Chiese e Cortili, Jazz at Casalini Garden, TEDx Reggio Emilia 2021, and the theater seasons of Dosolo, Mantua, and Fidenza.
Alongside my artistic and musical research, I have collaborated with several entertainment and event agencies, including MSC Cruises, Rossetti Entertainment, FixTheMusic, Music4Event, and Calliope.
I lead my jazz quartet, “Grooving Birds,” with whom we independently produced and released our first album, Amarcord, in 2022. The project is constantly evolving, and we have performed at several festivals including Monfrà Jazz Festival, ParadIce Music Fest, Etra Festival, and Arcipelaghi Sonori. Our second album, to be released by the label Barley Records, is scheduled for 2027.
In October 2024, my first solo album, Crazy Jungle, was released by the Italian label Alfamusic. The album features Natalia Abbascià on violin and vocals, Andrea Esperti on double bass, Tommaso Stanghellini on drums, and the vocal ensemble Le Scat Noir, who collaborated on the title track “Crazy Jungle.”I have presented the album in several venues and festivals across Northern Italy, including Corti, Chiese e Cortili, Combo Jazz, and the Accademia Musicale del Frignano.
Past collaborations include Selfie Ergo Sum (2021) with Altare Thotemico and MARACASCH Records; L’amore è una grazia (PMS Studio, 2022); the vocal trio and swing band Gio’s Sisters in the productions Caravan Natale (2017) and CaravanLescano, directed by Giulio Costa; participation as singer and composer with the Orchestra del Ruvido directed by Maestro Bonati in several editions of the ParmaFrontiere Jazz Festival (Flames Not Flowers, Voci dalla Collina, Tribute to Graham Collier, Conduction, from 2010 to 2014); pianist for the theater company Improgramelot from 2014 to 2019; and backing vocalist on the 2021 album Throwing Out the Blues by singer-songwriter Fulvia Gaspari
